Consider the Following Factors in Best Hair, Skin and Nails Vitamins Reviews

All the above beauty vitamins are effective and deliver what they promise. Sometimes it can be confusing to choose between them.

I recommend taking the following into consideration to help you decide which of these beauty supplements suits your needs the best.

Consider whether you are wanting a liquid, powder, gummy or tablet form of vitamin or supplement

Consider which flavour you prefer.

Consider the cost per day. The cost per day has been calculated using the current full prices at the time of writing this guide. These prices may change without notice either going up over time or coming down during sales.

Consider which key ingredients are the most appropriate for your needs.

I have listed the main beauty benefits of the key ingredients below to assist you in your decision making.

Blackmores Nails Hair & Skin,
Caruso's Super Collagen Builder Hair Skin Nails &
Nature's Way Beauty Collagen Berry Gummies

Key Ingredient Beauty Benefits

The key ingredients are listed in alphabetical order for your convenience.

Astaxanthin

Astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant. It helps fight free radicals and may help skin health and support the moisture content of your skin.

It may also assist with wrinkles and skin elasticity by protecting the skin.

Biotin

Biotin maintains healthy skin, hair and nails. It stimulates hair and nail growth.

It maintains hair health by assisting to regulate scalp oil production. It also helps reduce hair loss.

Lower levels of biotin have been observed in people who suffer from dandruff or an excessively oily scalp.

Biotin can help achieve glowing, wrinkle free skin.

Biotin also assists in improving the condition of soft brittle nails.

Vitamins containing Biotin are the best vitamins for nails strength, best vitamins for nail growth and best vitamins for hair growth.

Collagen

Collagen makes up 75% of our skin, 90% of our ligaments and 3% of our bones. It is a vital functioning protein in our bodies.

Collagen is responsible for our skin's elasticity. It is known to give our skin a radiant and vibrant boost.

When we are young we have an abundance of collagen resulting in our skin being taut and feeling soft, smooth and supple.

As we age our collagen may decline and our ability to produce collagen decreases.

This results in the first visible signs of ageing. It has an impact on our skin, hair and joints leading to sagging skin, wrinkles and fine lines, thinning hair and aches and pains.

Collagen vitamins and supplements aim to increase collagen levels, as well as stimulate further natural production of collagen, enhancing skin elasticity and hydration levels from within.

Collagen can help improve the health of your hair, skin and nails.

Healthy & Strong Nails

French Marine Pine Bark

French Marine Pine Bark is a powerful antioxidant which fights free radicals and may help skin health.

French Marine Pine Bark has also been reported to reduce hyper pigmentation of the skin, repair existing skin damage and increase skin elasticity.

It has been shown to increase the production of collagen.

Horsetail

Horsetail contains many nutrients and minerals.

It is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.

Horsetail can help strengthen brittle nails.

The main ingredient of horsetail is the mineral silica which helps grow healthy hair and strengthens hair strands.

Silica horsetail also contains collagen and has the benefits as listed for collagen above.

Iron

Iron is essential for healthy hair, skin and nails.

Iron gives your skin a healthy glow.

Anemia caused by iron deficiency may result in pale skin and dark circles under your eyes.

Iron also helps fight hair loss.

Iron has numerous non beauty related benefits too.

Silica

Silicon is involved in the formation of collagen. Silicon plays a fundamental role in the crosslinking mechanism of collagen and elastin.

Silica plays an import role in keeping your nails, teeth and hair robust and healthy.

St Mary's Thistle

St Mary's Thistle is a powerful antioxidant.

Riboflavin

Essential for healthy skin. Riboflavin assists in tissue repair such as growth of hair, skin and nails.

Vitamin B5

Vital for cellular energy.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is involved in the production of collagen and may assist in the maintenance of collagen and connective tissue.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E contributes to cell protection from free radical damage.

Vitamin E boosts the production of collagen.

Vitamin E can help stimulate hair growth, prevent premature graying of hair and give lustrous hair.

Zinc

Antioxidant activity supports healthy skin renewal processes. Zinc can also help lessen acne.

Time Frame For Taking Beauty Vitamins & Supplements

It is important to note that it will take time for you to start seeing the benefits of beauty vitamin and supplement taking.

You will not see the desired results in one day, one week or even one month.

Hair and nails especially take a long time to grow, so seeing improvements from your hair and nail vitamins and seeing an improvement in your hair and nail strength will take time as well!

Clinical trials have found it takes approximately 12 weeks to improve your nail strength.

I have read through hundreds of hair, skin and nails vitamin reviews online. Many reviews said they stopped taking the vitamins after 1 or 2 months of seeing no results but the reviews where women took these beauty vitamins and supplements for 3 months or longer are the reports where reviewers are all raving about their results!

Personally it was after taking beauty vitamins for about three months that I started seeing the benefits of stronger nails, stronger & healthier hair, and more radiant skin too.

My Choice of Best Hair, Skin and Nails Vitamins 2018

I am happy recommending any of the above listed best hair, nail and skin vitamins and supplements.

Some of the above however may be better for certain circumstances than others. Hence my specific recommendations are as follows.

Best Hair, Skin and Nail Vitamin For First Time Users

If you haven't used hair, skin and nail vitamins before I recommend the Blackmores Nails Hair & Skin 120 tablets.

The reason for this is that one jar contains 3 months worth of these beauty vitamins. As a result you are less likely to stop using them before you reach the three month mark.

By three months you should be experiencing visible signs of the benefits: stronger nails, healthier hair and skin.

This choice is also one of the most cost effective options and my personal favourite.

Blackmores Nails Hair & Skin,
Caruso's Super Collagen Builder Hair Skin Nails &
Nature's Way Beauty Collagen Berry Gummies

Best Beauty Vitamins To Take Travelling

My choice of beauty vitamins or supplements to take when travelling is either the Nature's Way Hair Skin & Nails VitaGummies or the Nature's Way Beauty Collagen Berry Gummies.

The first reason is that these choices involve no measuring or mixing.

They are also extremely portable and easy to pop into your handbag either in the original container or in a plastic snap lock bag.

Finally, they have the benefit of looking like lollies rather than tablets or medicine so you are unlikely to get questioned as to why you are carrying them and what they are for.

Best Liquid Hair, Skin & Nail Beauty Vitamin Supplement

My selection for the best liquid hair, skin and nails supplement is Caruso's Super Collagen Builder Hair Skin Nails.

I have finished several bottles of this liquid beauty supplement and I have previously written an article about Beauty From Within - Caruso's Natural Health Products HERE.

Best Value For Money Beauty Vitamins

The most economical of the above listed beauty vitamins and supplements are the Blackmores Nails Hair & Skin 120 tablets and the Swisse Ultiboost Hair Skin Nails+ 100 tablets

  6. I definitely think these have a much slower and long term solution as opposed to those people who want to see quick immediate results. I've never tried it myself, but it looks interesting.

  7. Great guide and massive thanks! My hair has just started growing back post-radiation, in January. I had no hair at all for 3 months. I am considering a new hair specific supplement to speed things along.

  14. This is a very interesting and timely post for me because I have had a lot of hair fall out following my major surgery in June last year. It was about 3 months post surgery it started falling out - mostly all around my hairline. It's growing back now. I have short curly tuffs all around my hairline. I'm thankful that I had a good thick head of hair to start with so that I can get away with this hair loss but it's been a shock to me. I'd like to take something to encourage the regrowth and if it also helps my nails and skin then all the better! :-) #TeamLovinLife

    1. General anaesthetics are shocking for resulting in hair loss! The more major your surgery the longer a general anaesthetic you would have had. I'd recommend taking one of the above vitamins that specifically contains Biotin.

  17. A lot of people I know (who had weight loss surgery) took biotin afterwards to try to help prevent hairloss. I'm not sure how well it worked but it makes sense to do all you can with whatever you have at your fingertips! #teamlovinlife
