Rimmel London Wonder'full Mascara

I received a Rimmel London Wonder'full Mascara with Argan Oil at a recent beautyheaven Beauty Degustation event.

I've been loving this product ever since and it is now my go-to everyday mascara, so I thought I'd share a review of it with you.

Argan Oil seems to be the ingredient of the moment currently! I've seen it added into numerous hair and beauty products. In mascara it really makes sense.

I love that the Rimmel Wonder'full mascara nourishes & conditions my lashes whilst defining and beautifying them.

I found this mascara to have a smooth consistency & great black pigment. It left my lashes feeling conditioned, soft & flexible. It was refreshing not to have my lashes dry out, become stiff or "crunchy" or look unnatural, as is the case with many other mascaras. I guesss this is due to the inclusion of the Argan Oil in the mascara.

I experienced no clumping & the mascara was buildable, making it suitable for day or night use. I mainly wear it with one layer as my everyday mascara.

Wonder'full mascara is not waterproof but it lasts well all day on my lashes, yet comes off easily when it's time to remove my makeup at night.

I love the smart looking bronze packaging of this mascara. Call me shallow if you will, but I do like metallic and sparkly things! Even in my ripe old 40s!

Finally, I also like that this mascara has a use by date 12 months from opening. This is longer than most other mascaras. Regardless, seeing as I've adopted this mascara as my go-to everyday mascara, my tube will well and truly be empty before 12 months is up! I will definitely be buying another tube of Rimmel Wonder'full mascara once my current one runs out.

What is your favourite daytime & favourite night time mascara?

Sculpture By The Sea

The Bondi Beach to Tamarama Beach coastal walk is breathtakingly stunning at any time of year and is a highly recommended Sydney tourist attraction for all visitors to Sydney and indeed Sydneysiders themselves, even Northern Beaches people like myself!

Tamarama Beach

Each year from late October to early November this walk becomes even more amazing when it hosts the annual Sculpture By The Sea exhibition. This is a free exhibition in the most spectacular natural setting! No boring, plain white gallery walls here, just dramatic sandstone cliffs, rocky foreshores, sandy beaches and the magnificent deep blue of the Pacific Ocean.

This year was the exhibition's 18th anniversary and the exhibition included 109 exhibiting artists from 16 countries around the world.

I love how many of the art works were designed to fit into the spectacular natural landscape, especially the sandstone cliff formations along the walk. The following such sculpture was my favourite. What a coincidence that it features lipsticks - haha! It's named "Glamarama" in reference to the local nickname for Tamarama Beach and the work draws attention to the beauty of the sandstone cliff.

"Look who's here..." was another of my favourite artworks highlighting the sandstone cliff face.

One downside of visiting the exhibition on a gorgeous sunny Sydney afternoon, as well as the last weekend of the exhibition, was the hoardes of people all taking this last opportunity to visit the exhibition. The experienced exhibition organisers however were very clever in their positioning of the art works.

A lot of the sculptures were positioned with the Pacific Ocean as their spectacular backdrop enabling stunning photos of the art works to be taken without getting any of the hoardes in the background.

I liked the sense of humour in some of the artworks, including this one. I imagine some of the locals do get "prickly" at all the hoardes descending on "their" territory!

At Tamarama there were serveral sculptures on the sand including a giant frypan called "we're fryin' out here" designed to make us stop and think about the damaging effects of the sun and the need to "cook" ourselves on the beach, and this "evidence based research - crossing the line" sculpture with the trees representing victims of years of drought and transformed into symbols of red alert.

Not surprisingly, the winner of the Sculptures By The Sea People's Choice Award 2014 was Michael Greve's "Breaching". What an appropriate sculpture in this magnificent setting - definitely a very deserving winner!

Did you get a chance to visit the Scuplture By The Sea exhibition?

Dr LeWinn's Effective Wrinkle Warriors

I trialled Dr LeWinn's Line Smoothing Complex S8 Instant Line Eraser Serum for beautyheaven a couple of months ago and absolutely loved it. So much so that I went out and bought Dr LeWinn's Line Smoothing Complex S8 Hydrating Day Cream to use with it. Here are my reviews of these two products.

Dr LeWinn's Line Smoothing Complex S8 Instant Line Eraser Serum
Dr LeWinn's Line Smoothing Complex S8 Instant Line Eraser Serum is a light lilac colour with a creamy consistency as opposed to other more oily serums I've used in the past. The serum has virtually no fragrance.

The advertising boasts that this serum contains "the power of 5 wrinkle warriors" including:
1) Snowflake Plant Extract that enhances skin firmness & boosts elasticity
2) Fiflow BCX which visually smooths skin within 90 seconds
3) Litonin Express which visually reduces the appearance of wrinkles by 74%
4) Hylasome EG-10 which boosts skin moisture levels 5 times higher than Hyaluronic Acid
5) Botox alternative Snap-8 which helps reduce the appearance of expression lines.

I've been applying 3 pumps of the serum to my face after cleansing and before moisturising every morning and evening. The serum absorbs quickly into my skin & although it sounds too good to be true, I really did feel and see immediate benefits. I felt an immediate tightening and firming of my skin  and noticed an immediate, significant visual reduction of my fine lines.

After several weeks use I noticed some of my fine lines have disappeared altogether and my deeper wrinkles have softened. My skin's appearance has improved, looking smoother, more youthful, radiant & "plumper". A couple of my friends have asked if I have been on holidays as I've appeared "more rested and relaxed" to them.

My only slight criticism has to do with the packaging of this product. While I love the hygienic pump dispenser, & the 30ml opaque white plastic bottle with its silver and lilac lid looks stylish, I'd prefer to have a transparent bottle so I could see how much product I have remaining.

Overall I'm extremely impressed with this serum and highly recommend it. I will be purchasing this product ($69.95) to replace it once my trial bottle is finished. This Instant Line Eraser Serum really is an effective wrinkle warrior!

Dr LeWinn's Line Smoothing Complex S8 Hydrating Day Cream
Due to the effectiveness of the above Instant Line Eraser Serum I also purchased the Dr LeWinn's Line Smoothing Complex S8 Hydrating Day Cream ($69.95) to use in conjunction with the serum.

This Hydrating Day Cream is advertised as "a light, anti-ageing treatment moisturiser that has the slow release power of the Hydro-Boost Micropatch and the rich nourishment of Caviar to help minimise visual signs of ageing and provide continuous hydration throughout the day". It also contains Snap-8 which acts "to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles".

I found this moisturiser absorbed into my skin quickly without leaving any greasy residue. I found it lived up to its advertising in that my 40+ year old skin remained hydrated all day, which is something that does not always occur with other moisturisers. After use my skin felt silky smooth and soft. My fine lines and wrinkles were reduced as described in the above review.

Once again I loved the hygienic push pump dispenser of this 30g moisturiser. I also liked the transparent jar which enabled me to see how much product I had remaining.

Overall I noticed a huge improvement in my skin with the combined use of these two Dr LeWinn's products. I will definitely be repurchasing both of these products. They meet the needs of my 40+ year old skin perfectly!
