Harvest Garden Product Reviews

Harvest Garden is an Australian family owned business creating skincare products from nature with two simple philosophies.

Firstly, Harvest Garden believes you should be able to read a label and understand the ingredients.

Secondly, Harvest Garden believes that what you put ON your body is as important as what you put IN it!

I totally agree!

As a result when I was given the opportunity to trial three Harvest Garden bath and beauty products I was so excited and accepted instantly!

Harvest Garden Products

Matcha Body Scrub with Peppermint, Passionflower & Bamboo

A cooling and invigorating scrub packed full of botanical extracts, vitamins and antioxidants. Designed to exfoliate dead skin cells, soothe tired and aching muscles and reveal softer, smoother skin.

Harvest Garden Match Body

The first thing that struck me when I opened this snap lock sealed packaging was the divine peppermint scent of the body scrub. This alone refreshed me before I even started applying the scrub - lol!

The mixture itself was moist and easy to grab by the handful to rub all over my arms, legs and body.

After massaging this scrub into my skin for 5 minutes, the mixture of the oils and exfoliators left my skin feeling cleansed, smoothed, softened and nourished.

I also felt more relaxed. Whether this was due to the action of the massage or the product itself, or more likely a combination of the two, I'm not entirely sure.

This body scrub's ingredients include sea salt, certified organic raw sugar, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, bamboo exfoliant, peppermint essential oil, green tea extract, passionflower extract, matcha green tea, vitamin E and sambucus nigra fruit extract.

Due to the inclusion of the peppermint essential oil this product is best avoided during pregnancy.

Matcha green tea seems to be the ingredient of the moment currently. I'm seeing it everywhere! But having now researched the benefits of it I fully understand its popularity.

Matcha green tea contains chlorophyll, a powerful detoxifier and high in anti-oxidants. It reduces inflammation and fights free radicals that otherwise would accelerate skin aging.

To read more about the benefits of all the other individual ingredients or to purchase this body scrub click HERE.

Pink Grapefruit & Passionflower Lip Balm

This soothing blend of butters, oils and extracts moisturises, repairs and protects your lips. Enriched with shea butter for added nourishment, pink grapefruit for its uplifting citrus scent, passionflower extract for its antioxidant benefits and pink clay for a hint of colour.

Harvest Garden Pink Grapefruit & Passionflower Lip Balm

The ingredients include sweet almond oil, macadamia nut oil, certified organic shea butter, beeswax, vitamin E and essential oils.

As you can imagine with the above ingredient list this lip balm felt moisturising and nourishing on my lips.

I've been wearing it to bed at night and in the mornings my lips have been feeling so much softer and healthier than normal!

The scent is beautifully subtly and I can only detect it when applying the lip balm.

Although the colour looks quite dark in the tube when applied I found this lip balm mainly added a clear shine with a gorgeous shimmer. I couldn't really see any colour on my lips.

All the ingredients of this facial masque are contained in its product title! Thus the ingredients of this facial masque are kaolin clay, activated coconut charcoal, licorice root extract and gotu kola extract.

Clay is a natural gift from mother earth that draws out impurities and toxins with its naturally absorptive abilities.

Kaolin clay cleanses, purifies, heals, soothes and nourishes the skin.

Activated coconut charcoal helps to tighten pores, smooth the skin and reduce inflammation, which is significant in preventing premature aging. It also contains antibacterial properties making it ideal for oily and acne prone skin types.

Licorice root extract is used for soothing, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties.

Gotu kola is a key element in skin repair.

Harvest Garden Kaolin & Activated Charcoal Facial Masque
With Licorice root & Gota Kola

To make up this masque you need to add one teaspoon of this clay with up to one teaspoon of liquid of your choice and then mix it into a paste before applying it to your face with the included brush. You then leave it on for 15-20 minutes and remove it before it hardens.

You can use a number of different liquids such as diluted apple cider vinegar, honey or your favourite carrier oil.

The bottle of facial masque is reportedly enough for up to 16 applications.

The first time I used this mask I added Manuka honey to it which was a bit too sticky and messy for my liking and hard to mix and apply.

The second time I added a mist toner instead and loved it! It was easier to mix, easier to apply and easier to remove! Plus my skin received the benefits of the toner and masque! I'll be using the mist toner again next time.

My skin felt cleansed, tightened, refreshed, smoothed and nourished after I removed the masque.

Now you know what's coming don't you?!! One simply cannot write a review about a facial masque without including an obligatory mask selfie - lol! So here it is!

Would you answer the front door looking like this?

Recent Empties

It's been three months since my last empties post and in that time I've finished quite a few more products. Some I've loved and will replace, others I've liked enough to finish but haven't necessarily loved enough to replace.

So without any further chit chat let's look at what I've finished and whether I will be replacing each of these products or not.

Recent Empties

DENTAL PRODUCTS
Let's start with an unusual one for me.

About five years ago my dentist was concerned that I brushed my teeth too vigorously, making my gums bleed. He was concerned I would make my gums recede if I continued with this practice.

So he recommended I buy an oscillating electric toothbrush (not a rotating one) which I did.

Every so often I'd buy several packets of replacement brush heads so I could change the head of the toothbrush at least every three months. All was going well, my brushing was gentler, I had no teeth or gum issues, all was good!

Until I recently went to buy more brush heads only to be told that they no longer made them for my model of electric toothbrush! Don't you just hate it when that happens!

As a result I had to trash my perfectly functioning Oral B Sonic Complete Braun electric toothbrush just because I couldn't buy any more heads for it and buy a whole new electric toothbrush! NOT HAPPY ORAL B and BRAUN!

Obsolete Electric Toothbrush & Country Life Body Wash

At least I'm happy with the replacement electric toothbrush I found at The Shaver Shop, the Philips Sonicare Gum Health Sonic Electric Toothbrush. Similar to my last electric toothbrush it oscillates instead of rotates, as recommended to me by my dentist, and is gentle on my teeth and gums.

New Philips Sonicare Gum Health Sonic Electric Toothbrush
& Spare Brush Heads

It was also one of the more reasonably priced electric toothbrushes - yay! Plus the staff at The Shaver Shop reassured me that this is a relatively new model and will have replacement brush heads available for many years to come!

If you're too vigorous with your manual toothbrushing like I was I highly recommend this electric toothbrush. Click HERE to find out more.
(Note: At the time of writing this toothbrush was on sale).

BATH PRODUCTS
Country Life Outback Sunset Body Wash
Over the Christmas holidays we had some overseas visitors so I bought Australian themed body wash for the bathroom for their benefit which we have now finished.

I enjoyed this product but have plenty of other body washes to use up so I won't be rushing out to repurchase this one.

LUSH BATH PRODUCTS

Recent Lush Empties

Lush Magic Wand Bubble Bar
This stunning pink magic wand bubble bar was amazing! It looked gorgeous on display in my bathroom but my urge to use it was too strong. I got three bubble baths out of it. I would definitely repurchase this if I saw it but I think it may have been a limited edition Christmas item.

Lush Magic Wand ?Bubble Bar & Snow Fairy Shower Gel

Lush Pink Flamingo Bubble Bar
I love my scented bubbles and this pink Flamingo Bubble Bar was so gorgeously cute! I loved this and will definitely repurchase this again!

Lush Pink Flamingo Bubble Bar

Lush Experimenter Bath Bomb
Vibrantly colourful with popping candy and divinely scented fair trade vanilla I loved this bath bomb and will be repurchasing it next time I'm in Lush.

Lush Experimenter Bath Bombs

Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb
Another bath bomb I loved and want to repurchase as soon as possible! this bath bomb creates stunning bath art!

Lush Intergalactic Bath Bomb

Lush Divine Whale Soap
This soap supports the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. It was a gift from a friend. I'd be happy to repurchase this soap.

HAIR CARE PRODUCTS
bhave Rescue Shampoo & bhave Rescue Conditioner
Yes, I know that bhave seems to feature in every one of my empties posts and to be honest I think finishing my shampoo and conditioner is often my prompt that it's time to write another empties post!

bhave products are my holy grail hair care products and I will always replace them. They make a significant and noticeable difference to my hair!

bhave Rescue Shampoo & bhave Rescue Conditioner

SKINCARE PRODUCTS

Skin Care Empties

I loved this product but it is quite expensive and as I don't have sensitive skin I will probably just replace it with a cheaper micellar water for now that I find equally as effective.

Elucent Anti-Ageing Gentle Cleanser
This is the perfect gentle cleanser for my age! I will probably repurchase it at some stage in the future but I have a couple of other cleansers to use up first and I'm determined to shop my stash a bit more this year. Click HERE to read my review of this product and the rest of the Elucent Anti-Ageing range.

Goodness Every Week Face Scrub
This was a pleasant enough face scrub but it didn't wow me! I won't be repurchasing this again in the forseeable future.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
This was a lovely and gentle yet effective exfoliatant. I can totally see why it has a cult following!

Dermalogica Powerbright TRx Pure Light SPF50
This product was prescribed to me following a Face Mapping Skin Analysis by Dermalogica.

The aim of this product is to reduce skin hyper-pigmentation and prevent the development of new pigmentation from UV light from the sun.

It's a brilliant product especially for women in their 40's and beyond but it is quite expensive!

I'd love to repurchase it but I will need to reassess my finances before doing so. It is currently on sale HERE so it is tempting me!

RosehipPLUS Nourishing Night Cream
I really liked this night cream and I love the fact that is certified organic. I would be happy to repurchase this cream but I have several other night creams to use first.

Swisspers Make-Up Pads
Although I didn't think I had any particular preference for one brand of makeup pads over another, I do always tend to grab these Swisspers ones. I have already repurchased another packet of these.

Save Our Skin By Innoxa NoTox Hyaluronic Eye Patches
Over the Christmas and New Year period I had a lot of events I wanted to look my best at. I therefore used quite a lot of these eye patches to smooth away the lines around my eye area.

These eye patches are amazingly effective! I'm so happy to have found them as prior to using them I had tried numerous other products to no great avail!

I can finally say that I have found a product that achieves good results and doesn't require any injections. I'm too much of a wuss to try anything injectable!
I have already repurchased these Save Our Skin By Innoxa eye patches. Given my budget I don't use them every day obviously but I do use them the night before any special occasion that I want to look my best at.

MAKEUP PRODUCTS

Makeup Empties

Rimmel London BB Cream 9-in-1 Radiance
I will definitely be repurchasing this product. It is my go-to base product when I'm in a hurry and with it's 9-in-1 functions it saves me a lot of time in the mornings! It's also very affordably priced! I have previously reviewed it HERE.

O.P.I Avoplex Cuticle Oil To Go
I have already repurchased this cuticle oil. I always have one in my handbag to keep my cuticles under control when I'm out and about. I use this when I'm stuck in waiting rooms or on public transport etc. This cuticle oil is even more of an essential in Winter!

Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer
I swear these lip shimmers somehow magically multiple in my handbags. They're 100% natural and are brilliant for moisturising, soothing and conditioning your lips whilst adding a pop of colour and a touch of shimmer!

Are any of your favourite products included in this empties post?
